Our Body Polish has a very special place in our heart here at t.l.c body. Why? It was the product that made us decide to start our company! Our founder was over seeing all these brands sharing their versions of “coffee scrubs” and not much else. Our founder has very sensitive skin herself, and always found coffee scrubs to be too harsh and would make her skin extremely itchy and red after each use. So, she conducted some
research and found that salt is also a great choice for a scrub! It is nowhere near as harsh and abrasive as coffee grinds- as it dissolves easily in shower temperature water, unlike coffee which needs a very high temperature to dissolve (hello extremely dirty looking shower post scrub!).
Another great ingredient that we use in our scrub is *Unrefined Shea Butter. Some of the great benefits of Shea Butter are it’s extremely moisturising, it’s known to reduce inflammation, it helps aid skin in the natural production of collagen, it’s known to help reduce acne and blemishes and contains Vitamin A & E. On top of that, we’ve also included Coconut Oil and Rice Bran Oil. Coconut Oil is also known to protect skin from bacteria, provide extreme moisturise and is known to help inflammation. Now, Rice Bran Oil promotes hydration, helps reduce pigmentation and also contains high levels of Vitamin E.
How to use
You can use this scrub in the shower or the bath- the choice is yours! We don’t recommend using this product on your sensitive parts 😉 as it may be a bit too abrasive for those areas. However, you can use all over the rest of your body without worry. Wet your skin first, grab a handful and rub in circular motion on your skin. A great suggestion is to let the scrub sit on your skin for a couple of minutes first before rinsing off- this way your skin can suck up some of those amazing oils. Rinse off (don’t use soap or you’ve just washed the amazing butter and oils straight off) pat skin dry. Voila! Bob’s your Uncle & Fanny is your Aunt!
* we 100% recommend reading our post titled unrefined vs refined butters & oils.unrefined-vs-refined.html Most companies use refined; but here at tlc body, we use unrefined.
Always patch test all our products first before use to see if there are any reactions. If there are, immediately stop using!
